Rainbow Six Siege Update 2.89 Patch Notes

BlackBeard Remastered

Blackbeard has received a game-changing overhaul, featuring a revamped H.U.L.L. adaptive shield gadget. This innovative tool now offers enhanced functionality, expanding and contracting to provide protection whether on foot or while rappelling. Even better, its advanced design allows for breaching walls, giving Blackbeard unmatched versatility and defense wherever the action takes him.

As a one-speed, three-health operator, Blackbeard’s loadout includes the powerful MK17 CQB or SR-25 as primary weapon options, paired with the formidable D-50 as a reliable secondary weapon.

PC and Console Crossplay: Unite Across Platforms

Crossplay has officially arrived, making it easier than ever to squad up with friends across platforms. Console players now have the option to join matches in the PC player pool. Any squad that includes a PC player will automatically shift to PC matchmaking for competitive balance.

While PC players cannot enter the console matchmaking pool, crossplay ensures smooth integration across platforms. Additionally, console players who participate in Ranked playlists with crossplay enabled will have a dedicated PC rank, separate from their console rank, preserving competitive integrity for both ecosystems.

  • Shotguns ecosystem tweaks for PC and Console:
  • ADS Dispersion Cone Reduction: ITA12L, M590A1, M870, SG-CQB, FO-12, SASG-12.
  • Hip-Fire Dispersion Cone Reduction: ITA12L, M590A1, M870, SG-CQB, Supernova.
  • First Shot Reduced: M1014, SPAS12, Super 90, SASG-12.
  • Increased Vertical Recoil after first shot: M1014, SPAS12, Super 90.

WINDOW BLOCKER

  • To reduce toxicity and spawn peeking, players will no longer be allowed to navigate onto window ledges.
  • Vaulting and Hot-Breaching through windows will not be affected

TEXTURE REFORGE

  • A texture reforge has been done which means players will be expecting a larger than usual Patch Size (between 30 and 40GB update).

Gameplay Fixes

  • Shield Mechanics: Fixed issues with operator shields not aligning properly during grenade throws and Blackbeard’s H.U.L.L. Adaptable Shield occasionally failing to block throwable device damage.
  • Defender AI Fixes: Bots no longer leave the building when Montagne is selected.
  • Map-Specific Bugs: Impact grenades now correctly destroy barricades and objects on Kanal’s 2F White Stairs.
  • Animation Glitches: Addressed pauses in defender animations after being hit by Dokkaebi’s Logic Bomb and shaking visuals when aiming down sights during free-look.
  • Device and Deployable Fixes: Fixed issues like Goyo’s Volcán Canister floating after Azami’s Kiba Barrier is destroyed and deployable devices failing to place on shield debris.
  • Visual Effects Updates: Restored missing dust effects for Sledge’s hammer in third person and corrected Sens’ projector effects when intercepted by Wamai’s gadget.
  • Exploits Resolved: Prevented players from vaulting through barricades or clipping through walls using specific techniques.

Level Design Fixes

  • Drone Vent Adjustments: Fixed destructible luggage and fire extinguishers used as drone vent blockers on Villa and Theme Park, resolving clipping and visibility issues.

  • Skopós Shell Alignment: Addressed numerous misalignments and missing shields for the Skopós idle V10-Pantheon Shell across various maps, including Yacht, Emerald Plains, and Consulate.
  • Exploits and Navigation: Prevented operators from accessing unintended areas, like vaulting onto fences in Clubhouse and containers in Nighthaven, using gadgets such as Osa’s Talon-8 Shield.
  • Wall and Device Interactions: Fixed issues where Thermite’s Exothermic Charge couldn’t destroy specific walls on Emerald Plains and Valkyrie’s Black Eye lost functionality when placed on a destroyed printer on Bank.
  • Map Visuals: Improved textures, including rock textures in Escape Tunnel B on Clubhouse.
