Following “Lies of P”, another Soulslike experience awaits us! “Lords of the Fallen” has already impressed many players with its graphics. However, the media response isn’t as enthusiastic as it was for the Pinocchio-themed RPG.
Currently, the PS5 edition of this dark fantasy RPG achieves a Metacritic score of 72. The PC version fares slightly better with a score of 77.
Significant Advancement Compared to its Predecessor
Let’s take a closer look at some summaries of the PS5 reviews:
One of the more favorable ratings comes from We Got this Covered, awarding 80 points: “Lords of the Fallen bears such a resemblance to Dark Souls that it might be mistaken for a copy, but astonishingly, it deserves to be mentioned alongside FromSoftware’s dark fantasy masterpieces. Those who have conquered the realms of Lordran, Drangleic, and Lothric will find much to enjoy here.”
But Why Tho? also granted 80 points, stating: “Lords of the Fallen represents a clear evolution from its predecessor, showcasing many highlights but also some shortcomings. For fans of challenging action RPGs, there’s a lot to discover here, and it promises to be thrilling.”
Games.no awarded 70 points, justifying their score with technical aspects: “Lords of the Fallen is an impressive action RPG. The combat system, music, and graphics are top-notch, and the world is both captivating and enticing. Without the technical flaws, the game would have achieved a higher rating.”
The Loadout gave a modest 60 points, explaining: “Lords of the Fallen starts promisingly with innovative concepts and exciting battles. However, some weaknesses ensure that the game doesn’t fully meet expectations.”
Eurogamer was less impressed, offering only 40 points: “Lords of the Fallen can’t keep up with the elegance of FromSoftware and suffers from typical Souls clichés and technical issues.”
