GTA 6 Update: A former Rockstar dev just revealed that GTA 6 is already playable! But is the 6 release date 2025 really happening, or will delays push it back? Plus: Insider talk on bugs, FPS limits & next-gen performance!

GTA 6 Update: Game is Playable

The hype around GTA 6 is hitting crazy levels, and fans are getting restless. While some industry analysts predict delays into 2026, a former Rockstar developer just dropped a bombshell: GTA 6 is already fully playable. Could this mean the long-awaited GTA 6 release date 2025 is actually happening?

GTA 6 is Playable – But Is It Ready?

Mike York, who worked at Rockstar from 2012 to 2017, spilled some serious tea in a recent interview. According to him, GTA 6 can already be played from start to finish.

“Of course, they’re still adding stuff here and there, but I’d say the game is probably playable now,” York revealed.

That’s huge. But don’t expect Rockstar to drop the game tomorrow—right now, they’re deep in GTA 6 testing phase, working out bugs and fixes to make sure the final release is flawless (or at least as smooth as possible for a game this massive).

GTA 6 on Console FPS – 60 FPS Ain’t Happening?

A big concern for console players: GTA 6 on console FPS. Will it hit 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox? York doesn’t think so.

“Maybe the PS5 Pro could handle it, but I doubt it,” he said.

Instead, he expects Rockstar to lock the game at a stable 30 FPS, at least on current-gen consoles. PC gamers, though? They’ll be getting GTA 6 playable with no frame rate limits—so if you’ve got the right rig, expect ultra-smooth gameplay.

GTA 6 Open-World Details – A Whole New Level of Immersion

Rockstar is pushing boundaries with GTA 6 Open-World details, and according to leaks, this map will be bigger, more detailed, and more alive than anything we’ve seen before. But that also means one thing: bug city.

The team is knee-deep in the GTA 6 testing phase, trying to hunt down every glitch in a world that’s probably insanely complex. York even compared it to his time working on GTA 5, where testers played for 8–10 hours a day just to catch issues.

“A game like GTA is different from anything else—it’s just massive. Finding every bug is a challenge.”

When is GTA 6 Coming Out?

The million-dollar question: When is GTA 6 coming out? Right now, Rockstar is sticking to the GTA 6 release date 2025, but that could change depending on how quickly they squash those bugs and fixes.

Some fans think we could be looking at a delay into 2026, but if York’s right and GTA 6 is playable, Rockstar might actually stay on track. Fingers crossed.

Here’s the deal: GTA 6 is already playable. That’s big. But with GTA 6 on console FPS potentially stuck at 30 FPS, some players might be disappointed—unless they’re playing on PC, where it’ll run at full speed.

As for the next GTA 6 update, we’re all just waiting for Rockstar to drop that next trailer and give us more GTA 6 Open-World details. One thing’s for sure: the wait is getting harder, but if Rockstar pulls this off, it’s gonna be worth it.
