Fantasian Neo Dimension
Fantasian Neo Dimension just dropped recently, and it’s making waves in the RPG scene. Developed by Mistwalker Corporation (yep, the studio headed by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the mastermind behind Final Fantasy) and published by Square Enix, the game launched on December 5, 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The story? It’s about a guy named Leo who’s lost his memories and has to deal with a world being wrecked by some freaky mechanical infection. The game stands out because of its insane visuals—every environment is a handmade diorama that’s been scanned into the game to give it this super unique, artsy vibe.
They built this with a custom engine specifically to bring those dioramas to life. And to top it off, the music is composed by Nobuo Uematsu, the legend behind a ton of Final Fantasy soundtracks. It’s giving old-school JRPG vibes with a next-gen twist.
Originally, Fantasian was released back in 2021 for Apple Arcade, but this version, Neo Dimension, comes with extras like full English and Japanese voice acting, an added difficulty level, and it’s available on way more platforms now. Perfect for RPG lovers who dig something a little different!
