Bohemia Interactive just dropped the latest update 1.021.202 for Arma Reforger today, February 27, 2025. This minor patch is now live for both PC and consoles, with PS5 players getting a key tweak to Vsync.
What’s in the New Arma Reforger Update 1.021.202?
While this isn’t a huge content drop, version 1.021.202 brings some much-needed technical fixes and improvements. The focus? Stability, performance, and smoothing out the multiplayer experience.
General Changes:
- PS5 Update: Vsync window mode margins set to 10% (new default)
Stability & Performance:
- Freeze Detection: New mode added to detect freezes and shut down the game instead of forcing a crash.
- Server Optimization: A2S protocol will now stop responding when the application is frozen.
- Crash Fixes:
- Fixed a crash when deleting a vehicle with unfinished wheel traces.
- Fixed a crash when ReplicatedCamerasSystem wasn’t present.
- Fixed a crash when turning on a radio broadcast while RadioBroadcastManager had no tracks.
- Fixed crashes caused by Radio TurnOn actions when no RadioBroadcastComponent was present.
- Fixed a crash related to BaseDamageEffect.
- Improved freeze detection on Linux servers.
Workshop:
- Bug Fix: Fixed an error when uploading addons to the Workshop.
Why Does This Update Matter?
This update is all about making gameplay smoother and eliminating stability issues that have been frustrating players. Server-side tweaks and better crash detection should mean a more stable multiplayer experience overall.
