Ubisoft just pulled back the curtain on the Animus Hub, a central platform for everything Assassin’s Creed. Originally teased as “Assassin’s Creed Infinity,” this hub will officially launch alongside Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and according to Ubisoft, it’s way more than just a basic game launcher.
Ubisoft producer Andrée-Anne Boisvert, who’s been involved in multiple Assassin’s Creed titles, made it clear that the Animus Hub isn’t your typical launcher. In an interview with GamesRadar, she joked about avoiding what she calls “Launcher-ception”—you know, the endless cycle of opening one launcher just to open another.
The big difference? The Animus Hub is directly built into Shadows. That means no standalone app slowing you down. Boisvert summed it up: “If we can’t get you into your game quickly, we see that as a failure.”
Four Key Features of the Animus Hub

Ubisoft designed the Animus Hub to be more than just a menu screen. It’s a fully connected experience, packed with features to make the Assassin’s Creed universe feel more alive. Here’s what’s included:
-
Memories:
This is your main hub for choosing games. At launch, the hub will feature “Shadows”, along with fan-favorites like “Valhalla”, “Mirage”, and “Odyssey”. -
Projects:
Think of this as your side-quest central. For now, these extra missions are exclusive to “Shadows,” and completing them unlocks rewards like the coveted Animus Keys. The best part? These keys can only be earned—no microtransactions here. -
Exchange:
In this section, you can trade those Animus Keys for gear, upgrades, and other goodies. -
Vault:
A treasure trove of Assassin’s Creed lore. The Vault is basically your go-to encyclopedia for the series, and it’ll keep growing over time.
Free Content and a Look Ahead
Ubisoft’s making a bold promise: the Animus Hub and all its features will remain completely free. Beyond that, the company sees the hub as a way to keep evolving the Assassin’s Creed universe. Fans can expect regular updates, fresh content, and plenty of surprises down the road.
The Animus Hub isn’t just a launcher—it’s Ubisoft’s way of connecting the dots across the Assassin’s Creed franchise. With its slick integration, player-focused features, and future updates, it’s shaping up to be a game-changer. So, when “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” drops, you’re not just starting a new adventure—you’re stepping into the next chapter of the Assassin’s Creed experience.
