After a long wait of over 13 years, the official successor to the cult game “Alan Wake” is on the verge of its release. The developers at Remedy Entertainment have now announced the global unlock times for “Alan Wake 2” and confirmed that the game will be released worldwide simultaneously.
A Month Full of Blockbuster Releases
October 2023 presents itself as a month full of exciting video game releases, including big names like “Assassin’s Creed: Mirage“, “Forza Motorsport” and “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2“. Now, “Alan Wake 2” joins this list and promises to be another highlight in the world of video games.
“Alan Wake 2” continues the story of the psychological thriller “Alan Wake” and brings some exciting innovations. The game will be unlocked on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 6 a.m. and will be released exclusively in digital form, as a retail version has been omitted for cost reasons.

In “Alan Wake 2,” players experience the story from two perspectives: On the one hand, they control thriller author Alan Wake, who faces a living nightmare in the so-called Dark Place. On the other hand, they slip into the role of FBI agent Saga Anderson, who specializes in investigating supernatural phenomena and travels to Bright Falls to get to the bottom of the eerie events in the small community.
According to Remedy Entertainment, the sections with Saga Anderson also serve as a flashback to the events of the first “Alan Wake.” “At the beginning of the game, she knows nothing about the events of ‘Alan Wake 1,’ and as she uncovers the supernatural mystery, players take this journey together with her,” explains Director Kyle Rowley.

In “Alan Wake 2,” we delve into the mysterious depths of Bright Falls, where FBI profiler Saga Anderson, known for her ability to solve even the most perplexing cases, stumbles upon a series of enigmatic ritual murders. Her investigations lead her to the pages of a horror story that frighteningly begins to come true.
Meanwhile, lost writer Alan Wake is fighting for his freedom in a nightmarish prison beyond our world. With his pen as his weapon, he writes a dark tale to alter reality in his favor and escape the relentless terror that pursues him.
The paths of Anderson and Wake, though they run in different realities, are mysteriously intertwined. Echoes of their worlds become mirror images that allow communication between them.
Trapped in a horror story where there are only victims and monsters, Anderson and Wake face the challenge of becoming the heroes they need to be to break free from this nightmare. Will they manage to overcome the darkness and reach the light at the end of the tunnel? Only time will tell.
